Investment Committee Consulting
You have an obligation to your plan to have a written Investment Policy Statement (IPS). Gabriel Capital can help with modifying the plan to suit the needs of your organization, and make sure the investment options reflect the requirements of the IPS. Investment committee services include, but are not limited to:
- IPS development and review
- IPS plan compliance
- Annual review of 401k & Pension plan investment options
- Quarterly meetings and reviews (as requested)
Since Gabriel Capital works with you on a negotiated fee (not commissions or incentives paid for by mutual fund companies, brokerage firms, etc.), you can have confidence the recommendations made come without the conflicts you are trying to avoid in the first place.
Reduce Legal Liability (Documented Plan Participant Education)
For many, an employee's retirement account is their largest investment asset. If an employee nearing retirement loses a large portion of their plan balance due to ignorance about investment decisions, who do you think is the easiest one to blame? You, the employer! Don't put yourself in the position of being the target of a disgruntled employee and their hired legal gun.
Documented Participant Education
Provide plan participants the opportunity to sign up for one-on-one investment education meetings. This will go a long way towards showing you took seriously your duty to provide plan participants with information about plan investment options.
Gabriel Capital will come to your company's location, meet with each employee that elects to meet, and will provide information and education to assist the participant in making their own unique allocation decisions.
If the participant elects not to take advantage of these meetings, you'll have their choice documented. If they do meet, you'll receive a signed and dated copy of the meeting notes and topics discussed.
Periodic Group Meetings
Gabriel Capital can handle quarterly/semi-annual employee group meetings to explain plan options and introduce a general education topic.
Don't rely on "statement stuffers" to reduce your potential fiduciary liability. Do your firm, and the participant, a favor by providing face-to-face, documented investment education.
"Key Employee" Services
Certain employees are integral to your organization's success. Provide them a benefit that the competition doesn't: Key Employee Investment Consulting. These services can include, but are not limited to:
- Employer stock option exercise strategy
- Advice on concentrated positions
- Integrated asset allocation (review of assets outside of the employer plan)
